Learn how to playWithout an auction: classic Belote
Coinche, also called belote coinchée or belote contrée, is the way most of France plays Belote today, and you can play it free in your browser: you and a bot partner against two bots, or a private table for four friends and family. No download, no account.
It is Belote with an auction. Nothing is turned up: each player sees all eight cards, and the teams bid how many points they will make and which suit will be trumps. The other team can coinche (double) a bid it thinks will fail, and the bidders can answer with a surcoinche.
The bots never see your cards. Easy bots bid on a hunch; Medium bots value their trumps, aces and tens before bidding, raise your bid when they hold the jack or nine of your trumps, and cash their master cards; Hard bots bid their hands in full, coinche when they sit over your trumps, and count every card played. Choose a game to 1000, a long one to 2000 or a short one to 500, and add sans atout and tout atout or announcements if your table plays them.
The deal, card order and points, bidding from 80 to capot, coinche and surcoinche, sans atout and tout atout, and how a deal is scored when the contract is made or goes down.
