Pusoy is the Filipino way of playing Chinese Poker, the card game of barkada nights and family gatherings. Everyone gets 13 cards and sets them into three poker hands, front, middle and back, then compares them row by row. It is not Pusoy Dos: there are no turns and no racing to empty your hand, only the arrangement.

Play it free in your browser against up to three bots, or start a private table and send the link to your barkada: bots take any empty seat. No download, no app and no sign-up.

How to play Pusoy

  1. The deal. 2 to 4 players, 13 cards each from one 52-card deck. Everyone sets their hand at the same time, with 90 seconds on the clock.
  2. Three hands. Back: 5 cards. Middle: 5 cards. Front: 3 cards, where only high card, a pair or three of a kind count. Each row shows its hand name as you arrange it.
  3. Keep them in order. The back must be at least as strong as the middle, and the middle at least as strong as the front. Otherwise the hand is fouled and pays a sweep to everyone. The auto-arrange button suggests the best legal split.
  4. Compare row by row. Front against front, middle against middle, back against back, with each other player in turn. Each row won is worth 1 point, more with a royalty.
  5. Sweeps and naturals. Win all three rows against a player for a sweep worth 6. A dragon, six pairs, three straights or three flushes can be declared to win without a showdown.

Scoring and the bots

Pusoy is scored 1 point a row, 6 for a sweep, with royalties for big hands: up to 10 points for a straight flush in the middle. A game is 10 hands, or 5 in a short game, and the highest total wins.

The bots never see your cards and never foul. Choose easy, medium or hard: Hard bots test their best splits against imaginary hands dealt from the cards they cannot see, pick the one that scores best, and only declare a natural when it pays more than playing the hand.
