Phỏm, also called Tá Lả, is Vietnam's favourite rummy game, and you can play it free in your browser: three bots at the table, or a private table for up to four friends. No download, no account.
Everyone gets nine cards. Build phỏm (sets and runs), eat the card the player before you throws if it completes one, and after four rounds the fewest loose points wins. Get every card into phỏm and you go Ù and win on the spot.
How to play Phỏm
- Eat or draw. Eat the previous player's discard if it makes a phỏm with two of your cards, or draw from the stock.
- Discard. Throw one card. Everyone does this four times.
- Lay down. On your fourth turn, lay your phỏm on the table.
- Gửi. Then add loose cards to the phỏm of players who laid down before you.
- Win. Fewest loose points wins. No phỏm at all is móm: last place.
Play against AI opponents
The bots play by the same rules and never see your cards. Easy bots eat when they can; Medium bots keep their loose points low; Hard bots keep their pairs, watch what you eat, and won't throw you the card you're waiting for.
